How to Make the Most of Your Summer

{via}

wake up early
As necessary as it is to take advantage of sleeping in, waking up early will give you an early start to your day and thus more time to enjoy summer. Don't get me wrong, seeing that you've slept till noon is quite the accomplishment, but consider half your day gone. Try waking up earlier and maybe refraining from the snooze button to assure you take advantage of every second of summer.

+ stay active
There is nothing like spending the day in bed watching Netflix, but be sure to get up and get moving every once and awhile. Don't waste your day away on the couch, consider going for a bike ride, or taking a spontaneous trip to the beach. You will feel so much better to be outside, enjoying the summer sun and getting some vitamin d!

+ read a good book
Aside from mandatory summer reading {which usually isn't anyone's preference}, find a book or two that you would enjoy to read. Take an afternoon to stroll through your local bookstore in search for the perfect book. Sometimes it's so peaceful to sit back and indulge in a good read. I am currently reading The Vacationers by Emma Straub and I highly recommend it to anyone in search for a good beach read!

be adventurous
As cliché as it sounds, summer is the time to be bold! Take risks, try new things, and don't be afraid to go outside of your comfort zone. Maybe taste new foods or take a road trip with your friends. Take every chance you get to do something different because you won't regret it.

+ make & cherish memories
Summer is the perfect time to make memories. Whether you travel, attend camp, or kick back and relax on the beach, cherish every moment. Summer is only a few months, so take advantage of it. Treasure every grille out, family gathering, and day off school to assure your memories last a lifetime.

How are you planning to make the most of your summer?
