Immune Boosting Foods

The cold bug has officially spread and it seems that everyone is starting to feel under the weather. Speaking of the weather, I think being summer transitioned so quickly to fall, stuffy noses and sore throats are becoming a trend. In order to stay healthy during this sick season, be sure to boost your immune system. Assuring you have the necessary vitamins and minerals will keep your immune system strong and keep you away from nasty sinuses and sick days spent in bed. Skip sick season with the following:

+ Vitamin C
Aside from citrusy fruits, spinach and strawberries are excellent sources.

+Vitamin E
Just a handful of almonds or hazelnuts fight off infection. 

 +Vitamin B6
Bananas and chickpeas are packed with benefits. Bring on the hummus! 

+Vitamin A
Be sure to stock up on carrots, cantaloupe, and sweet potatoes. 

+Vitamin D
Fish (think salmon or tuna) and a glass of OJ are sure to do the trick.
