Why You Should Sleep In A Bun

Over the years, I've come to appreciate my straight hair, but I've always envied those with effortless waves. I've tried it all: braids to bed, messy buns, curling wands. Even when I seem to achieve the slightest bit of a curl (greatest feeling, right?!), my hair inevitably becomes flat within a hour or so. If your like me, you also worry that falling asleep with your hair wet will leave you with damp and messy locks come morning. I always blow dry my hair after a shower and prefer to sleep with it dry and down in order to keep things straight ;). After reading the benefits of a bun to bed, however, I might just have to rethink my nightly hair routine.

1. Sleeping in a loose bun is said to prevent your hair from getting messy during your sleep.

2. A topknot helps against tangling and frizziness because your hair isn't rubbing against a pillowcase.

3. The 'togetherness' of a bun provides additional volume when you wake up.

4. To achieve loose waves, add curl or texture cream to your damp hair and throw it in a bun before bed.

Do you sleep in a topknot? I'm totally convinced to try it out!
