Superfood Smoothies

Following my wisdom teeth surgery last week, I've sort of been on a smoothie kick. Don't get me wrong, the milkshakes and ice cream were super yummy, but I eventually started feeling fatigued and in dire need of some nutrients. I've been visiting my favorite local smoothie place every morning for a little boost that both soothes my aching mouth and satisfies my taste buds. My "kick" has inspired me to delve into my recipe book of smoothies known as Superfood Smoothies. I remember getting it when my dad and I first bought our Vitamix (we were very enthused at the time), but I always seem to forget that I have it. The recipes are quote on quote "delicious, energizing, and nutrient-dense" and have inspired me to start making my own at home. I thought I would share my go-to recipe that will hopefully inspire you too!


1 cup of frozen berries- I love the mix of strawberries, blueberries, raspberries
1 1/2 cups of orange juice- a little potassium plus the perfect hint of sweetness
a handful of ice cubes

It's super easy and simple, but very delicious. I'm tempted to branch out more and maybe try some of the intricate recipes in the Superfood Smoothies book. I'll let you know how it goes!
