Straying from Stress

Firstly, is it just me, or have these past few weeks been piled high with extensive to-do lists and loads of work?! Amidst the craziness, I truly miss blogging on a daily basis and I'm hoping to get back into a steady routine again. Secondly, this time of year, especially as a senior, is a bit overwhelming; between balancing a schedule and completing college apps, I can never find time for myself. Long story short, stress is inevitable yet can easily be combated with a few tricks that I find extremely helpful.

sweat it out // For me, nothing gets my mind off of things like a good workout. A little sweat will help eliminate toxins all while pumping your endorphins. Elle Woods said it best: exercise gives you endorphins and endorphins make you happy! Hit the gym and you will for sure be in a much better mood.

plan ahead // Having an idea of what it is you need to accomplish will help alleviate stress in the long run. I avidly support a planner and live by weekly to-do list. Before bed, I try to write out my schedule for the next day, that way I know what I need to do and don't feel as overwhelmed.

be productive // Late nights becoming draining and lack of sleep is a huge factor to stress. Use your time wisely so you can make it to bed before midnight. I know that I stress having to complete work up to the last minute, so take advantage of your free time and don't procrastinate.

How are you straying from stress?

  1. Senior year has definitely been stressful for me too but I've found using every minute of my free period to work as well as going to Pure Barre classes regularly has been super helpful!
